How does the chocolate get to the top of the fountain?
It is propelled upwards by an innovative stainless steel corkscrew, which rotates and carries the melted chocolate from the heated basin to the top. Once it reaches the top the chocolate in turn cascades down the fountain and then gathers at the base whereupon it is pushed upwards again.

How does the chocolate stick to the foods dipped in?
We use a special type of Belgian chocolate known as 'couverture', which means 'covering' in French. In other words, the chocolate is specially made to coat anything and everything you dip into the fountain.

Where would you use a chocolate fountain?
Weddings, parties, birthdays, anniversaries, corporate launches and occasions, Christmas parties, sporting events or anywhere else you have a group of people both young and old getting together who love chocolate. The chocolate fountain is guaranteed to be a talking point at any function.

How reliable is your machine?
Many of the chocolate fountains available in the UK today were imported from the US, which could make them less reliable as America uses a different electricity voltage system to us. Our fountains were manufactured in the UK and are the only fountains currently available meeting British food grade standards. As a result our machine has a 100% reliability record. Also at Cocoa Delight we have a backup bases just in case.

How long can a fountain run for?
It can run indefinitely as the fountain keeps the chocolate at a constant temperature. The only thing we need to do is keep topping up the chocolate.

How long do you supply the fountain for?
Our prices include set up time, 4 hours of the fountain running and dismantlement.

What happens if we want the fountain running for more than 4 hours?
Please contact us with your requirements and we will be happy to discuss them with you.

What kind of chocolate do you use?
Callebaut Belgian Couverture chocolate in the following flavours, praline milk, white, plain, milk.
It has a high cocoa butter content, which means the chocolate not only flows smoothly, it has a better taste and a silky appearance.

What can be used as dips for the fountain?
Fruits, sweets and cakes can be used for dips, for example: strawberries, raspberries, banana, marshmallows, profiteroles, muffins, doughnuts, and much more.
For more delicate fruit and crumbly foods, we would recommend ladling some chocolate over them, as debris interferes with the aesthetics and smooth running of the fountain. Of course, ladling the melted chocolate would use more of it.

Do I need to set the fountain up or prepare the chocolate?
We will take care of all the preparation and set up, and at the end of your function will clear the fountain away. Our service is designed to be totally stress free for you, so you can relax and enjoy your event.

How many people does each size fountain serve?
The large machine serves from 100-300 guests, the small up to 50 guests.

Is it possible to accommodate more guests?
Yes, you can purchase extra chocolate and dipping goodies if you wish. Included in the rental of the machine is 10kg of Belgian Chocolate.

Can I have the fountain at an outdoor event?
It’s not recommend you use the fountain outside for 2 reasons.
1) The chocolate attracts flying insects
2) A breeze would disrupt the flow of the chocolate.
If you absolutely wanted to use the fountain outside you would need to ensure that it was in a warm and sheltered spot and that you were vigilant enough to ensure no flying insects came into contact with it.

How can I pay for the fountain?
We accept cheques (made payable to Cocoa Delight) or cash. £100 deposit is required at the time of booking, and full payment is due 14 days before your event.
